Make Sure You Have A Nice Ozone Sanitizer

By Eloise Hewitt

A sanitizer is a system that is widely used to reduce bacteria. Ozone sanitizer can kill fungi, etc up to 98%. It helps to reduce skin rashes and infections as well as eliminating any odor.

Many food industries are now changing to these systems as they have found that keeping their plant sanitized helps to increase daily production. Many companies have turned because of the food safety warnings and all the recalls that have brought many to their knees. These systems are now operational in many of these industries, including beef, pork, seafood, and poultry.

One method to keep equipment clean is to use 4 UV lights to convert oxygen into ozone. This is then circulated around by fans for a few minutes killing all micro organisms. Natural tea tree oil is allowed to embed itself into the equipment. The last step is to ensure that there is a protective layer that has a scented bactericide added.

While dealing with the gas, there has never been a fatality. The manufacturers, installers, and designers have built and installed safety precautions to protect people. One can still smell the odor and if you are exposed for too long a period you will start to feel unwell. Look out for shortness of breath and headaches, if you think you might have been exposed then go outside where you can get fresh air. The symptoms should subside but if they don't seek medical help as soon as possible.

It is important to be able to size the equipment for the pool, that is, the correct dosage that must be applied to the system. It needs to be applied in the correct volume, for example, how many people normally use the pool. Dirt and any other organic compounds must be taken into consideration as well.

Ozone will need to be the main sanitizer and produce as much as 95% of the oxidation required. This will leave the chlorine with the last 5% and will reduce the side effects dramatically. The amount of chemicals that are used in spas will need to be passed by the local health regulations.

The advantage of using ozone is that it is a very strong disinfectant and oxidant and is available in aqueous solutions as well as gaseous mixtures. Once it has been used it will turn into oxygen. It might be a very strong substance but it is still a very safe one to handle. When it is used to treat wastewater it converts bio- refractory materials to biodegradable which will lower the concentrations of problematic organic compounds. It may not be totally soluble in water but it is stable enough that the disinfectant properties can be utilized.

Chemical sanitizers are either ammonia based or chlorine. Always read safety instructions as they tend to differ from one product to the next. Storing chemicals is also a very important rule to follow. Ozone sanitizers are a much cheaper form and work well in cold water.
