Choosing To Order Vegan Food Online Is The Right Thing To Do

By Jaclyn Hurley

People who eat vegan food know that there are many reasons to go into the lifestyle. There are also too many reasons not to. Based on interviews with a number of vegetarians, much information has been gathered about what those reasons are. The decision must be seen on one hand with an understanding of their arrangement, on the other hand with a certain detachment, in order to remain completely neutral in your decision. You may also find the reasons that vegetarians are not vegans, although they endorse many of the basic ideas, to be compelling as well.

One of the main reasons people make this choice is to try and ensure that fewer and fewer animals are abused by humans. Changes in society come about when people discuss and demonstrate their beliefs. Making this particular choice means eating just vegetable products, no meat, milk, yogurt, eggs and honey. Even with their clothes, they do their best to avoid animal products: no wool and so on.

The decision may sound rather hard and burdening, but it's not actually that major of a challenge. It does take some adaptation, but you shall soon discover various (surprisingly delicious) alternatives. So why do folks make that choice? There are a lot of reasons, sometimes they are unrelated to what you might expect. For instance, often this is done for religious motivations or even health reasons.

Naturally, there isn't really a need for objecting to people that make this choice for health, or religious reasons, so long as the decision to oppose animal exploitation is made. However, certain people's reasoning is more focused on social and political motivations. For these folks it is a movement against capitalism.

Virtually every animal product that people consume in the Western world is derived from one or other type of farming. The animals are raised, they are slaughtered and then "processed" at a shocking rate. Purely for profits, little calves get locked in boxes for some 22 weeks to get ready for being slaughtered, and the free roaming fish in the seas are trapped with death walls. There are networks of fishing ships that stretch for miles and between them, anything more than several inches in size is doomed to certain death.

Mink are bred in small cages for their fur in the tens of thousands, and hundreds of thousands of rabbits sit chained neatly next to each other annually to ensure that the cosmetics industry can burn away their retinas. Chickens are stripped of their beaks while living by the millions in large sheds until they are sucked up by what amounts to a huge vacuum cleaner.

You will also find cows that get specially bred, by using biotechnology, for the extraction of an ever increasing volume of milk production. With every single gallon of milk, they create a blood puddle, but they must also give birth each year, so as to keep the milk "production" going. This has lead to a global surplus of acidification and manure.

Some folks accept that trapping and even killing people, as well as animals happens. In itself, you can imagine the killing and trapping of these animals in given situations to be justifiable. On the whole, however, such situations don't arise very often if greed has no involvement. That is only one among the countless reasons why the vegan lifestyle choice must be made more and more.
