Consuming Seafood In Las Vegas Can Help Lower Bad Cholesterol Levels

By Dorothy Kelly

Health professionals say that switching to a diet that's primarily plant-based is very good for keeping heart disease at bay. That's because it can help lower the levels of low density lipoprotein (LDL) or bad cholesterol present in one's blood. The consumption of fish regularly, however, is still deemed as highly beneficial as they supply the body with good fats. It's exactly due to this why cardiologists strongly recommend enjoying seafood in Las Vegas.

LDL cholesterol is referred to as bad because of the fact that it can endanger a person's life. This waxy substance can hamper optimum blood circulation as it can accumulate inside the arteries. Experts say that having clogged arteries is something that can trigger a heart attack or stroke. It all depends on which arteries are affected the most.

The presence of excessive amounts of bad cholesterol, which can be determined by a blood test known as lipid panel, is an issue that's regarded as very serious. This kind of problem is something that everyone should try to dodge at all costs. Maintaining optimum cholesterol levels in the blood is a definite must most especially if you have heart disease or at risk of battling it one day. Failure to do so may lead to your unexpected death.

Animal food products are known to be the primary sources of LDL cholesterol. Fatty meat cuts are some examples of those that contain lots of the said nutrient. Some of them contain only small amounts of bad cholesterol. However, consuming lots of them on a regular basis can still lead to unhealthy levels of blood cholesterol.

This does not mean that all animal food products should be eliminated from the diet especially if the goal is to attain healthy levels of cholesterol. Actually, heart experts highly recommend regular intake of fish. The kinds that are deemed excellent for fending off elevated LDL cholesterol levels are fatty ones. Some very common examples of those are salmon, trout, mackerel, herring and sardines.

Numerous scientific investigations say that these fish types are phenomenal sources of good fats that are referred to as omega-3 fatty acids. They are revered by health professionals as they are capable of removing excess LDL cholesterol from the blood. It goes without saying that these nutrients are ideal for those who are advised by their doctors to have their bad cholesterol lowered.

What's so amazing about omega-3 fatty acids is that they are very good fighters of inflammation. Cardiologists say that inflammation within can actually encourage arterial hardening and narrowing. Thanks to their anti-inflammatory properties, omega-3 fatty acids can also help deal with arthritis. Mental health authorities confirm that these good fats can help manage anxiety and depression, too.

Cardiologists say that 2 servings of fish should be added to one's diet per week in order to enjoy heart-related perks. Doing so is usually enough to encourage healthy levels of blood cholesterol. It is a must for the individual to cook fish without adding ingredients that are regarded as unhealthy.
