Buy A Herbal Postpartum Bath Kit

By Andrew Myers

Birth is an exhausting process for mothers. It takes their bodies time to adjust and recover. During this time, when they also have to care for a new baby, it is often difficult for them to consider taking care of their own health and welfare as a priority. A herbal postpartum bath kit may address this need and give them the care they need to keep their babies cared for too.

The hospital may provide mothers with some self-care products after the birth but these products are not always of the best quality and may contain chemicals and other ingredients that may even pass through the breast milk to the baby. This period after the birth is crucial, babies are sensitive and using natural alternatives to harsh chemicals is infinitely preferable.

During the birth, the perineum may tear, causing pain after the birth. Even if it does not tear, there is still a feeling of soreness. Healing herbs can do much to address this problem. They are free of chemicals and toxins. Many of them can work wonders when it comes to issues like inflammation and swelling. Kits often include tea blends, soothing tinctures herbal oils that are known to help with healing.

One of the products found in such kits may be a cooling and healing numbing spray. This can be extremely helpful with pain related to any tearing that occurs with the birth. It may contain organic ingredients such as witchhazel, pepperment and lavendar oil, all of which have a healing effect. Such sprays do not contain synthetic fragrances, dyes, petrochemicals or parabens like some of the less organic versions.

Constipation is another problem that is often addressed in the contents of these kits. After giving birth, constipation may be a severe problem that is not addressed by eating foods high in fiber and drinking enough water. Magnesium does help with constipation but if this does not work, natural herbs are available to help with this problem.

A squirt bottle, also called a peri bottle, is often one of the products found in kits. This bottle can be used effectively to squirt warm water onto the sore area if it is painful to wipe. It is kept clean in this way and the sting of the urine is lessened. Later, herbs in blends may be added to the water to speed up the healing and reduce inflammation.

Items like maxi-pads are often given to a patient by the hospital. They are also included in kits but these ones are much better as they are usually chlorine-free and often biodegradeable too. Sanitary briefs may also be found in kits as well as sitz baths. A sitz bath can really help to soothe and heal, especially when soothing and healing herbal ingredients are used.

Kits may include tinctures to use both during a birth or afterwards. A lemon balm tincture may be included for relaxation and to help in early labor. A motherwort tincture may help to prevent hemorrhage, ease anxiety and pain after the birth.
