Finding The Best Seafood Chicago

By Richard Price

Seafood is a very popular choice for diners when they are going out for a meal. With its many varieties and benefits to health it is a growing sector of the food industry. If you are searching for the best seafood Chicago there are many establishments for you to choose from after doing a little research to see what is on offer.

Choosing a restaurant is quite a personal thing for most people. In some cases people will find one that they like and stick to the same one for life while others will try a different establishment every time they dine out. Decor is a very important part of any eatery and a nice atmosphere is also essential for a nice lunch or evening meal.

There are many varieties of seafood to choose from when looking through the menus in restaurants in Chicago, IL and there are some great dishes on offer. Crab claw, shrimp and oysters are all offered as well as combination dishes featuring a selection of seafood. For fish lovers there is Dover sole, smoked salmon and more exotic fish from around the world.

These restaurants in Chicago boast some of the world's finest chefs who will prepare your food. With many years of cooking experience between them many decided to go into business for themselves and create their own unique dishes. Many styles of cuisine are offered and this can range from grilled fish to far eastern influenced dishes from Thailand and China.

If you are dining as part of a larger group which is very common there may be one or more members of your party who are not fish lovers. This is not a problem in most places as they will offer the usual items found on menus such as steaks, pasta dishes and vegetarian options. Child menus and money saving set menus are available in many restaurants too.

For those who do not wish to dine out and prefer to eat at home there is the option of take away and many of the restaurants provide this service. Telephone and online orders are taken and the food delivered to your home or you may choose to collect it. Most restaurants will publish their menus online so that you can choose your take away dishes.

A large percentage of the restaurants in the Chicago area will be licensed to serve alcohol with your meals. Most of them will have a well stocked cellar of wine to compliment your chosen dishes. If they do not sell alcohol they may allow you to take in a bottle of wine, spirits or a few beers but it is worth checking before booking a table. If you do take in alcohol you may be charged a corkage fee and the management will advise you about this.

It is always a good idea to review a restaurant after dining there so that other potential customers can read your comments. It is also a useful thing for the management as they can rectify any problems if there are any. Tipping is expected in most places if the service is good but is not compulsory but as a rule 15% is acceptable.
