By Jennifer Walker

Each and every people in the world is different. We all have distinct features, physical appearance, skin and hair color, foods to eat and others. Some individuals have brown hair while others are black, some have very round eyes, some have pointed nose while some are not.

It is a common fact that not all people are distinct to one another since we live in different nations and in different timeline. One thing that distinguishes one person for others is the type of food to eat. Because of some beliefs and customs, there are other individuals, like the Muslims, who are only to consume Halal MRE.

Basically, the Muslims are never allowed to consume pork and any products that derive from it. However, they are permitted to eat some meat as long as the process of getting such is according to their rules and regulations. Serving the right foods to your guest is important, therefore, use these simple tips to guide you in serving your Muslim guests.

For a person who does not have any idea about this kind of religious belief, it is normal that you will not be able to distinguish the right one to the wrong one. This practice is very important to them. Make sure that you have given them the right kind of food in order to avoid future problems.

Before heading to your nearest grocery store, do your homework first. Make a research on what foods are permitted and what are not. You may ask some of your Muslim friends about this, if you have. But if know no one, you may browse through the internet to find some useful information.

Take note that it is not only meat that the Muslims are not allowed to eat. There are also some ingredients or foods which, for them, is unlawful to be eaten. Some of these are grain products which contain alcohol, cheese and yogurt which comes from animal rennet and many others.

One thing to assure that you are selecting the right one is to examine on the labels. Food products have food labels, usually found at the lower right of the pack. It is indicated there the ingredients of that certain product. Look at each and every ingredient in order to be assure.

One more tip to find out whether the food pack is not prohibited is looking unto the Halal certification. The Muslim community has a commission to determine whether this material is legal to consume or not. When they find out that it contains illegal meat, they will not approve it while those that meet their standards would then be issued a certification and be marked as Halal certified product. That mark is an assurance for you that what you are buying is indeed appropriate to be eaten by them.

And when buying processed foods, make sure that you have check on expiration dates. This is one very basic but a common mistake to most consumers. They tend to forget this aspect in buying goods because they are more focused on the price and on the brand names.
