Methods To Use To Ensure Quality Lobster Delivery

By Thomas Smith

Lobsters rot easily if not preserved well, when out of their usual environment. It is crucial to preserve them well before transporting so as to reach destination in good condition. Many factors need to be put in place to ensure smooth and a nice lobster delivery is achieved, failure to which, things may not be as intended. Indeed, advanced method of transportation should be considered. Proper packaging is also essential in ensuring that its reaches destination while in good condition.

It has been found that if kept under a good place that is moist and cool, it consumes less oxygen. This makes transportation easy and affordable. Under high temperatures, the rate of oxygen consumption is very high. This makes its transportation expensive and quite difficult. Most of lobsters die during transportation due to lack of enough oxygen. Therefore, its rate of usage must be regulated to ensure that it is able to reach destination.

For gills to perform the role of gaseous exchange, they need to remain moist most of the time. This is the major reason why they need to be placed in a moist environment. If well preserve they can live out of seawater for about four to five days. A lot of carbon dioxide is generally produced by dry ice and therefore it is not advisable to keep it close to dry ice. If kept in fresh water, it swells up a condition that could result in bursting.

They are normally transported in trucks that are refrigerated. In these trucks, the temperatures are well regulated to ensure that the best possible environment is met. On the other hand one may intend to transport it while under seawater. To make this successful there is the need to ensure that the tanks are properly aerated. These conditions must be met so that can be transported for longer distances while alive.

Before shipping them, make them cool so as to avoid abrupt change in temperature from warm to a cold, a situation that could make them stressed up. Although they are good in putting up with temperature changes, they are highly affected negatively by sudden temperature changes.

It is advisable not to feed them few days between two to three days before transportation. When full they consume oxygen gas at relatively high rate that may increase their chances of suffocating. The situation may also increase the chances of vomiting which makes the environment messy and not attractive to look at.

The place to place them during transportation should be highly aerated for efficiency. If not, carbon dioxide may accumulate resulting in inappropriate environment for its survival. To avoid this make a small hole on transporting tank to allow the waste gas escape into the atmosphere. If the shells are broken the transporting method may not be efficient.

When intending to order one, choose a nice company to help in transportation. A nice one should have good equipment to help in transportation. Choose one whose mode of payment is friendly and at the same time the prices they ask for the service, are friendly also. Find such companies from the internet. Friends and relatives may also advice where to get one that offers high quality services.
