The Maintenance Of Organic Olive Oil Distribution

By Katie Onson

If you are familiar, at all, with organic olive oil, you will know that the environment can change its overall composition. Leave a bottle of oil out in the sunlight for too long, and you will find that its nutritional value will be reduced over the course of time. Of course, it's important to understand how these qualities can be maintained. Distribution has been studied and to say that this concept is worth focusing on would be nothing short of an understatement.

Olive Oil Times posted an article that talked about organic olive oil and how the control of environmental elements could play into its overall value. In order to expand on this, a study was done under the guidance of the Health Critical Food Traceability Program. Basically, this program will oversee how a particular distribution method can play into how oil is transported with quality intact. Some of the details of said study left me intrigued, as a fan of the oil itself.

It's important to account for organic olive oil and the ways in which it can be maintained. What this study aims to prove is that this particular product can retain its ideal level of quality, no matter how extensive the travel is from production to the first use. Of course, one can make the assumption, "This sounds like too big of a study." However, it's important to note that the OliveToLive system, in particular, will be looked over by the University of Florence's scientific teams.

For those who are unaware, the OliveToLive system was originally created back in 2011. Since that time, it has been used across a number of restaurants, each of which are located in Britain and Spain. What this means is that the system has been presented to consumers, allowing them to see said system at work as opposed to simply being able to read or hear about it. Three varietals have been offered, meaning that these very consumers can experience a unique culinary experience.

Organic olive oil is a product with many perks, but the extent of them will only be present with the highest level of quality intact. You have to understand that a product like this should be preserved, which is why I feel like a system such as the one mentioned earlier has such value to it. Is it possible that this oil will reach areas of the world outside of Britain and Spain alike? For the sake of higher-quality oil, in addition to various types, I hope that this will be the case.
