By Marquerite Velasquez

Being somewhere else however would also introduce you to some other popular desserts which can be as interesting as well so why don't we look into some of the other sweet offerings from around the globe.

One of the good examples would be the treat that people in Turkey highly enjoy - a dessert treat called tavuk gogsu. You will find that it comes with ingredients uncommonly thought to be those used for desserts as they include chicken breast and milk. Actually, this dessert is a pudding which is cooked by process of shredding or grinding up the chicken which has been boiled and incorporating other ingredients like boiled milk, cinnamon, coffee, salt and sugar.

Another interesting dessert that uses an ingredient that seems more likely to appear in a savory dish is crme de abacate. This Brazilian concoction is a mix of avocado, lime, sugar and heavy cream. In Brazil, it is not unusual to also see ice cream or cold sweet drinks made out of avocadoes or to have this crme de abacate used as a cake filling.

Chocolate-covered insects are a popular treat in several different countries. In Thailand, for instance, you might find crunchy fried crickets coated in chocolate or perhaps a lollipop with a scorpion. In other countries, chocolate grasshoppers or chocolate ants might be sold for consumption.

Faloodeh is a special dessert that is beloved in Iran. It is made from thin noodles that are created using corn starch, rose water and sugar syrup. It is actually one of the world's oldest cold desserts and probably has been eaten more than 2,000 years. Sometimes this dessert is topped with sour cherry syrup or pistachios. It is commonly available in ice cream shops throughout Iran.

If you want some amazing American favorites, head down to YoKuMon and enjoy and check out their extensive list of treats.
