A Gourmet Pasta Sauce With Pesto

Everyone knows that the mark of a good pasta dish would be dependent on the taste of the sauce. In the field of culinary arts, one of the best tasting sauces would be the ones that are pesto based. If one would want to make one of these dishes, then here is a good recipe for a pesto based gourmet pasta sauce.

Now the ingredients for this dish would include mushrooms, basil leaves, some garlic, and pesto spread. The first step in the cooking process would be to cut the garlic clove and the mushrooms so that they are small. For hygiene purposes, also never forget to wash the ingredients.

When all the cutting and slicing is done, then the next task would be to heat up the frying pan by letting it stay on the fire for a while. After that, add a little bit of olive oil on the pan and circulate it around. When the entire pan is filled with the olive oil, take the chopped garlic pieces and put it on the pan.

The next thing to do after this would be to saute the garlic until a fragrant aroma comes out and the garlic turns golden brown. Once it becomes golden brown, then one must now put in some of the chopped mushrooms that from before. Just like with the garlic, one must saute the mushrooms for a while.

After doing the mushrooms, then one should now dump in the basil leaves in order to add the herb taste. One thing that amateur cooks should know about basil leaves is that they shrivel up when they are exposed to heat for a very long time. With this in my, one should make sure never to cook the leaves for a long time otherwise the leaves will lose their strong taste.

Once everything has already been mixed together, then one can add some of the pesto spread on to the pan. If he wants his dish to really have a strong taste, then he should put a lot of pesto spread. Conversely, if he would want it to be a little more bland, then he has to put less pesto spread so that the taste will not be as strong.

The last thing to do in the process would be to put some water so that the dish will be a little moist. After that, take the cooked pasta, put it on top of the cooked sauce, and start mixing the concoction. The very final step in the process would be to put a little bit more olive oil on the dish so that a little more taste can come out.

So as one can see, this recipe for gourmet pasta sauce is quite simple to do but it is also very delicious to eat. Of course if one would want to give more flavor to his creation, then he can actually add some walnuts or pine nuts. If he wants a little bit of spiciness, then he can actually put some chili flakes on top.
