By Marla Mills

Coffee is known to be one of the most commonly drank beverages in the entire world not only because people see it as a comfort drink, but also because of its energizing and awakening effects on the human body. However, the thing about this beverage is that it is not very good for the body simply because it has dehydrating effects and it may negatively affect some organs in the body. That is why there are so many people who would opt to take a coffee substitute instead.

On the top of the list of these drinks is teeccino and is made of some barley wheat along with some other flavorings. It does not taste like coffee but it has the texture that everyone knows and loves. It is also very good for health because it does not contain any gluten which is a substance that is known to cause a lot of health issues with people.

The dandelion root is a great ingredient to use when one would want to make a drink that can replace normal coffees. The best part is that it goes with other healthy and tasty drinks like almond milk or soy bean milk. It is also gluten free which means that it is very healthy to consume if one is afraid of getting some long term illnesses.

A definite must in the list would be matcha tea which is the closest thing that one can get to drinking caffeine. Yes this drink does contain a little bit of caffeine in it but it is only a little bit and just about enough to give people energy. By drinking this, one does not need to go cold turkey when he is trying to kick off the habit of not taking caffeine.

If one enjoys drinking lattes or something of the same kind, then he may want to take a drink that is known as vanilla latte. This is a very delicious drink that somewhat resembles regular lattes but with no added caffeine in it. To make this, one just has to heat up a little bit of vanilla flavored roasted almond milk and put a little bit of cocoa powder.

If one is a fan of teas, one specific blend that he may take would be genmaicha. In order to make this, one just has to mix a little bit of green tea and mix it with roasted brown rice. This drink produces a really nutty flavor and texture when mixed with green tea.

For those who are in need of the energy that caffeine would usually give them, there are actually a lot of other beverages that would give off this energy that do not contain caffeine. A fine example of that would be fruit smoothies. Fruit smoothies are a natural source of energy because the fruits inside already have their nutritional attributes.

Now if one is looking for a great tasting coffee substitute, then he should take a look at this very good list. Not only are these beverages healthier than coffees, but they also taste really good. With these, it is possible to kick off the habit quickly.
