Find The Best Food In Staten Island

There are numerous restaurants that want to be known for making the best food in Staten Island. Royal Crown Bakery has a reputation for serving giant sized sandwiches, their chicken parmigiana is particularly popular. They bake their own cakes and bagels too. Carol's Cafe is a winner with locals. The proprietor is also the chef. They are known for making American dishes such as cheeseburgers. The desserts are made on site.

If Vietnamese is your preference, then you should go to Pho Mac, the only restaurant of it's kind on the island. It's located in the Bullshead area. The ambiance is relaxed and they offer take out food too. Children are allowed in the restaurant and you can park on the street. Unfortunately, there is no wheelchair access.

There are two DaNoi Restaurants in Staten Island, serving dishes from the Northern part of Italy. The prices are very reasonable with pasta dishes costing on $15 on average. They do have more expensive meals, costing up to twenty seven dollars. The main restaurant is hidden down a side street and has a pleasant, intimate atmosphere.

For German food, then Shaffer's Tavern is the place to visit. They offer a range of beer and sausage as well as kraut. They do a soup of the day as well as specials. The restaurant has a family atmosphere and has had the same owner for many years. Sandwiches are priced from around $8 dollars up to $11. Platters cost a couple of dollars more.

There are several pizza restaurants in the borough. Joe & Pat's Pizzeria and Restaurant has been open since nineteen sixty. They are well known for making thin crust pizzas. They opened another restaurant in Manhattan recently. Denino's Pizzeria Tavern has been going since the early 1930s. Ownership of it has been handed down from generation to generation.

There is only one Cajun-Creole restaurant in Staten Island and that's Bayou. They create the style of the old New Orleans. They have live jazz music and offer tarot readings too. During most week days there is a prefixed menu which offers a three course meal for just under twenty dollars. They serve many different desserts as well, including banana and chocolate pudding and caramel cheesecake.

Filipo's Italian Restaurant is more expensive than most. Their antipasti starts at around $11 and pasta meals at $20. Meat dishes can cost as much as $40. They offer a catering service as well, for special occasions. They often hold events to celebrate dates like Father's Day. They offer a broad choice of wines, importing them from all around the world.

Duffey's Tavern has an Irish theme and is famous for it's burgers, which some people think are the very best in the borough. It's close to the zoo and easy for visitors to find. They offer a selection of daily specials too. Their prices are reasonable with appetizers starting at around $6. Their burgers and sandwiches come with pickle and potato chips. If you'd like to have fries too, then you will have to pay extra. Duffey's most certainly serves some of the best food in Staten Island.
