Review Of The Ice Cream Diet - Avoid Being Fooled

By Wilson Resturbee

The reaction many people have about the Ice Cream Diet is typical, and they tend to look at it and wonder if it's for real. This is understandable, as ice cream sounds like something you have to stay away from if you want to lose weight. The plan with the Ice Cream Diet most certainly is to eat delicious ice cream every day, and you follow the diet guidelines to lose weight. So, ok... we're going to review this Ice Cream Diet, and let you know what we find and think about it.

Saturated fats are found in animal products, Ice Cream is not especially low in that area. Cheese, Meat and Fish are also on the menu of foods you get to eat along with the ice cream in this diet. Some "bad" fats have been found to actually be good for you if taken in moderation. Follow the recommendations of the ice cream diet to avoid over indulging in saturated fat with this otherwise low calorie diet. While the ice cream diet is not conventional, it may actually be healthier than any other you have tried.

A low calorie diet doesnt have to be nasty. Yet, the fact is that ice cream itself may help you to lose weight because of its calcium content. Studies incdicate that calcuim is essential for weight loss. Fat can be burned more efficiently when you consume calcium. The Ice Cream Diet book points out that certain benefits come from eating calcium rich foods. Having a consistent exercise plan will help you lose even more weight.

This diet is based on sound principles that are no real secret, and the ice cream bit isn't needed at all. With this diet, men are not allowed to eat more than 2,000 calories per day, and women 1,500. Plus, it's important that you engage frequent and meaningful exercise. The little bit of allowable ice cream calories also comprise the daily calorie limit. So when you think about it; when you do the exercise and restrict your calories like that; then it really doesn't matter about the ice cream, or chocolate, etc. So you can see that the ice cream in the Ice Cream Diet is purely for marketing reasons.

Even worse, people who only hear about it and don't actually study the diet may conclude that ice cream isn't fattening. It's like all other diets, you need to read about it and make sure you follow it. The Ice Cream Diet is no different from others because you will need to do exercise and watch the calories. In summary, the Ice Cream Diet can be a workable weight loss plan, but only if you stay within the caloric restrictions it gives you. The name aside, this really is an acceptable and basically classical approach to losing weight using restricted calories and exercise - the old fashioned way. The Ice Cream Diet can work for you if you stick to it and don't misunderstand it by thinking you can eat a gallon of ice cream every day!
