Make Fun Party Favors With Wedding Popcorn

By Lana Bray

It's never easy to plan a wedding, and the reception can be just as challenging. Coming up with party favor ideas to fit into budgets is also difficult. Many couples choose to have a full meal and party favors, while others focus only on favors, such as a wedding popcorn bar.

Many sweet treat gourmet recipes exist to make any popcorn bar a huge success. Consider presentation ideas also. Many exist to make this a fun, elegant and classy way to thank guests in a unique way.

Think about purchasing options, and if buying gourmet popcorn or preparing it and brides and bridesmaids displaying it is the right choice. Many brides choose to make it themselves after determining prices. Aside from the cost savings, brides may find endless opportunities to display creativity and personal touches unique to the personality of the couple.

Planning is essential when couples decide to make it themselves. Getting others in on the process will save time and effort, and will allow for new ideas and input. Think about having servers. This will add a touch of class.

Flavors and styles of treats should be determined by the type of dress, and overall theme of the party. There are a variety of styles of popcorn bars, and stylizing them to the party, the dress, colors and theme is the best choice. A few treat choices might include Carmel balls, chocolate, nutty and candy pretzel mixes. Others are sour cream, cheesy, spicy.

If instead it has a rock star theme, Hawaiian or Asian theme, thinking about a mix of other gourmet flavors, such as spicy, fruity, or tailored after other cultures might be a good idea. Also considering the display or packaging is a must, as well as how it will presented to your guests is a must. The first thing to consider is if servers will bring the treats in elegant displays to each table, or if a buffet style is more appropriate.

Where to get supplies and cost is also an important part of the decision making. One idea would be to create gifts to place at each guest's seat. These might include purchasing bags in wedding colors, with decorative etching, with thank you or other writing on outside of bag. Mix would be placed in thin lacy bags and topped by a ribbon.

Champagne glasses can also be used at buffet styled bars. Place them on silver trays, with special colored and styled snack cups, and you have an elegant design, whose glasses can later be used for drinking champagne. Other elegant ideas are apothecary jars. The same can be used for candy bars.

Personalizing the display whenever possible is not only a good idea, and a wedding popcorn bar will help guests feel appreciated and welcomed. Include festive bags at tables or at a buffet bar that display pictures of the couple, with their names underneath. Slogans printed on bags which say "welcome to our special day", will be treasured keepsakes. Creating such a style as this allows for personal fulfillment in seeing the style, mood, theme of the party come together in a truly unique way.
